Job Description:

We are looking for a motivated, customer-focused team player with a genuine interest in information management, to help us deliver an excellent service and take forward our service vision.

Job Responsibilities:

  • To deal sensitively with enquiries or telephone messages, logging calls accurately and alerting staff or managers immediately to any issues requiring immediate attention
  • To use Microsoft Office to produce reports, spreadsheets and other documents as required and in the correct format
  • To take responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young persons/ vulnerable adults in your care and those who you come into contact with
  • To undertake regular Child Protection training at a level commensurate with role
  • To provide a comprehensive administrative support service to the Team and to assist the manager to maintain and improve administrative systems
  • To maintain good working relationships with other teams within Children’s Services, other Council departments, outside agencies as well as customers
  • To assist in ensuring that paper and electronic filing systems are accurate, accessible and kept up-to-date through photocopying and scanning documents; filing documents; retrieving and returning case files from the archives
  • To process incoming and outgoing communications, g. mail, faxes and e-mails in line with written guidance
  • To ensure an adequate and accessible supply of stationery and consumables are provided to the team and to monitor equipment repairs and replacements
  • To undertake duties appropriate to the role and grade as directed by the line manager
  • To undertake other duties commensurate to the grade of the post

Qualification & Experience:

  • Excellent IT skills with a knowledge or Microsoft Word and Excel are also necessary as well as a personable telephone manner. Please note this role is office based.
  • Strong organisational and administrative abilities, the interpersonal skills to build relationships with a wide range of colleagues and other agencies as well as an appetite for hard work are fundamental to the role.
