About the team

The marketing team are responsible for generating modern, fresh and culturally relevant omni channel marketing ideas. Bringing campaigns to life from conception to reality. Whether it be large scale global campaigns, the biggest celebrity collaborations or new store activations, the departments main priority is to create ideas through messaging, imagery and motion. We live and breathe our brand and commercial objectives by enticing, exciting and engaging our target consumer. We work on creative concepts for iconic calendar events such as Christmas, Summer, Back to School and beyond.

We’re looking for creative minded, delivery and performance focused individuals to join our inhouse team. You’ll be working with a team of talented brand, campaign and studio-based marketing experts. Working for JD across our brand portfolio including Nike, adidas, Puma, The North Face and Under Armour to name a few. This is an extremely exciting time to join our expanding inhouse marketing team.

About the role

In this job your role will be to create, curate and collaborate in relation to all of the biggest JD campaign calendar moments. During huge retail spikes like Christmas, Back To School and Summer you will be responsible for the creative ideas and storytelling strands that will ensure JD truly stands out and is top of mind with our core consumer. Your ideas will need to be truly global with a heavy dose of UK centric core thinking. You will also need to develop consistency in the JD tone of voice, through the brand and product centric campaigns you create.

What you will be responsible for

  • A grasp of conceptual thinking, involving narrative and elevated storytelling.
  • Day to day design tasks including application of layout, colours and typography across a whole range of outputs including retail, out of home, .com, app, social and more.
  • Being able to comprehend and apply strategic insight and rationale to campaign work alongside narrative/story led colleagues including copywriters.
  • Assisting in ensuring that there is a clear framework for all JD campaign visual output.
  • Ability to work cross functionally and confidence in presentation to all stakeholders.
  • Must be comfortable at working at a fast pace.

What we are looking for

  • Proven experience within digital design.
  • Able to work quickly and effectively whilst maintaining a high level of quality and managing workloads.
  • Organised and be able to manage own workflow.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent (not essential subject to relevant experience).
  • Ability to clearly articulate ideas to line manager and other less creative team members.
  • Strong understanding of JD brand space, relevant industry landscape and interest in youth culture.
  • Great team player and an incredible eye for detail.
  • 3D or motion design ability as an additional skill.
