Job Description:

This role is within London Underground Asset Operations, where you will be responsible for the performance of external contractors delivering maintenance activities and reactive fault calls across London Undergrounds stations, depots, operational facilities and sub stations. You will also be involved in the delivery of minor works and project improvement works. You will provide a function that effectively supports the business areas in their duty to comply with Legislation and internal Standards and processes.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Identify opportunities for continuous compliance improvement within the department and assist the Lead Manager and Mechanical Manager in their implementation.
  • Produce reports to monitor and control asset performance on a period-by-period basis. Reviewing fault and performance data and summarising into relevant reports, challenging the contractors KPI as and when required.
  • Manage the asset day to day to meet compliance with legislation and the requirements of LUL Standards and KPI’s.
  • Responsible for the programme of internal monitoring and audit of all Health, Safety and Compliance obligations within systems team providing associated compliance reports.
  • Prepare technical aspects of tender documentation and provide technical evaluations of tenders to facilitate competitive bids for maintenance, new and minor works projects.
  • Will be required to work 1 week of nights in every 8 weeks for audit and inspection purposes
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of asset condition and individual whole life asset plans, in co-ordination with the delivery manager. Carry out site surveys and inspections in line with appropriate standards.
  • Supervise resources undertaking asset management activities (including contractors) Ensure statutory and contractual maintenance is completed to standard.
  • Prepare maintenance and new works designs/specs for the assets to meet the needs of the business and comply with relevant standards.

Job Requirements:

  • Able to manage and communicate effectively with contractors and customers. (Essential)
  • Good interpersonal, numerical (excel) and written skills. (Essential)
  • Medium to high level of computer literacy (Essential)
  • Ability to work independently under own supervision (Essential)
  • Good knowledge of excel for planned vs actual reporting / fault reporting (Essential)
  • The ability to manage maintenance, reactive calls and minor works projects simultaneously prioritising where required. (Essential)

Qualification & Experience:

  • Experience in supporting project environment role in relevant area. (Desirable)
  • Experience in managing contracts. (Desirable)
  • Railway Engineering Experience in the station environment. (Essential)
  • Experience in TLF447 process. (Desirable)
  • Experience in Maximo. (Essential)
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems such as Water, Heating, Boilers but more focused on Tunnel Ventilation, General Ventilation and Comfort Cooling Systems. (Essential)
  • An HNC or ONC in Building Services or other relevant discipline. (Desirable)
  • Knowledge of contract management. (Desirable)
  • Knowledge of LUL station assets. (Essential)
  • Hold a current Driving Licence. (Desirable)
