Hours of work

  • 41 hours per week.
  • Four days out of six (Monday to Saturday).
  • Weekday hours 10.30am to 9.30pm.
  • Saturday hours 7am to 6pm.
  • Work two in five Saturdays as part of four day week.
  • No Sunday working.
  • 3.1% shift premium to be applied to pay.

As a Customer Delivery Hub Technician you will be the lead in the delivery of excellent customer service – the helpful driver who delivers the unique blend of quality and outstanding service that you expect from John Lewis and Partners, right to our customers’ doors.

This is a really important ‘front line’ role that is a crucial part of our operation, where you will be delivering excellent customer service in line with the John Lewis proposition by aiding in the delivery, assembly and installation of products in the customer’s premises following the planned route.

Pay 29,100.00 – 37,800.00 Depending on experience


What’s the role about?

As a Technician you will spend a proportion of your working day completing installation/assembly services in customers’ homes, so the role requires a high degree of technical competence.

You will have a desire to develop performance for yourself, colleagues and the business, so you will also be responsible for mentoring and coaching colleagues of varying ability to achieve their personal development goals and the business secure its strategic aims.

As a Technician you will openly demonstrate a passion for delivering excellence in customer experience, safe and efficient driving and be motivated to carry out the role following legal and best practice requirements.

Acting as an ambassador for the John Lewis brand, Technicians are focussed on delivering and surpassing the exemplary service expected of us, they love giving amazing customer service to our loyal customers, being able to use their initiative while out driving and working as part of a team who care for each other.

This role is a physical role and will involve a high level of Manual Handling as you will spend a lot of your time delivering large two person items such as sofas, white goods, sports equipment, furniture, beds and mattresses etc.


Here’s what you must have:

  • A C1 Driving Licence (with a maximum of 6 points)

  • Drivers Certificate of Professional Competence (DCPC)

  • Drivers Qualification Card (DQC)

  • Digital Tachograph Card


What else you can bring:

  • Good local geographical knowledge

  • Instillation and disconnection of white goods

  • TV installations

  • Assembly of flat packs

  • IT Skills

What experience do I need?:

  • Complete wall mounted TV and lighting installations (with a valid NICEIC certificate) in customer’s homes in a safe and competent manner.

  • Complete the disconnection and reconnection of integrated laundry, dishwashing and refrigeration appliances in customer’s home in a safe and competent manner.
