As a member of our Infrastructure Engineering team, you’ll dive right into creating innovative solutions that advance businesses and careers. We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to work in the Monitoring, Observability, and Telemetry product organization. As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will work on a team building a key part of our telemetry & Observability portfolio for our products. You will help to improve the systems running at scale to ensure end to end monitoring for major & critical applications in all the Lines of Businesses. A suite of monitoring tools will be in play here that brings all information together to a central aggregation layer which allows streamlined processes , smarter observability and automation capabilities. The successful candidate will also help to accelerate the migration of all the heritage monitoring tool sets from Linux and Windows platform to the strategic Telemetry platform.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the OS teams , Application & product teams across all LOBs to drive the stability & reliability and operational excellence of the Infrastructure monitoring product with primary focus on exceptional client service.
  • Work on a development team that writes code to automate services to enable self-service and no manual tasks
  • Work in an agile process to pace and track what we work on and deliver high quality work
  • Diagnose and resolve systemic obstacles that prevent the team from delivering high-quality software
  • Maintain and update appropriate documentation to ensure risk management protocols and strategies are met
  • Work on technical direction with architecture and engineering teams

Your Qualifications

  • You’ve spent years building high-availability, high-scale, production systems. You have a strong background in how data can proactively observe the health of systems and how the data can be used as a proactive measure to prevent operational issues
  • Excellent infrastructure experience on Windows and Linux
  • Hands-on software/ Infrastructure Developer /Engineer role
  • Advanced hands on development experience in one or more general-purpose programming languages: Python, Go, Java, C
  • ITRS Geneos Product Knowledge is a huge plus
  • Strong working knowledge of Databases such as MS SQL Server, Oracle or MySQL, PostgreSQL, RDS
  • Strong Scripting Experience with at least one of the scripting languages – JSP/Perl/PowerShell, shell scripting, Groovy, Scala
  • Experience building applications on and integrating with a hybrid cloud model that is across on-prem infrastructure, private cloud and public cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Familiarity/ Working knowledge of Tivoli, SCOM, Netcool, Grafana, Prometheus,Geneos
  • Knowledge of application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines
  • Strong Understanding of cloud, containerization, virtualization, APIs, and modern software languages
  • Working knowledge of monitoring and telemetry concepts
  • Working knowledge of stream-based solutions, e.g. Apache Kafka, Apache Camel
  • Understanding or have experience with agile and lean philosophies
  • Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills with clear communication
  • Ability to collaborate with different roles to achieve common goals
  • Experience building solutions in an agile manner using DevOps principles like CI/CD, TDD and build/test/release automation tools such as Jules, Jenkins, Jira, Git/BitBucket, etc
  • On-Prem to Cloud product Migration Experience is a plus
  • Passionate about good engineering practices, new technologies and improving processes
  • Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills with clear communication
  • Ability to collaborate with different roles to achieve common goals
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
