Wholesale Lending Services Middle Office (WLS MO) is part of WLS and provides global end-to-end loan origination, servicing, restructuring and trading support. Services are tailored to the needs of the client and lines of business, ranging from bilateral to large syndicated loan agreements. Services provided include Loan Origination; Deal Closing & Funding; Documentation Review; Core Loan Servicing; Loan Closing & Trade Settlement.

Within WLS MO The Following Role Has Become Available

EMEA WLS Origination Support, Transaction Coordination – Vice President

Loan Transaction Coordination, as a team within WLS, is responsible for coordinating complex syndicated and bilateral loans for the Corporate & Investment Banking, Corporate and Commercial Banking and Trade Finance. The team works closely with the JPM origination businesses, ensuring that all necessary information is reviewed for operational feasibility and optimal execution. The team partners with various internal and external parties, including but not limited to, Debt Capital Markets (DCM), Credit Risk, Loan and Agency Services, Legal, as well as JPM Borrowers and Lender Clients. The team also interacts with counterparts internationally on cross-border transactions, originating out of EMEA.

We operate in a control-focused environment ensuring that new loan agreements and amendments are viable from an operational standpoint and in line with JPM’s preferred language, recorded accurately, and any exceptions are managed accordingly.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Maintain and review credit agreement terms across loan structures to ensure JPM standards are followed
  • Track points of contention and drivers to identify market trends and document JPM preferences
  • Partner across Legal, Business Partners, and Operations departments to create forum and operationalize industry changes
  • Assist front office and WLS with negotiation of Term Sheets and Credit Agreements
  • Review, advise, and escalate on product related terms to ensure operational feasibility (currency, pricing, timings, structure, etc.)
  • Review and advise on funding mechanics and operational requirements as it pertains to internal booking locations, regional and currency policies
  • Advise and provide expertise across operations on Credit Agreement provision impacts to workflow
  • Build and maintain relationships with Debt Capital Markets leadership to continue to build on industry leading execution model
  • Responsible for Project Management functions including keeping all deliverables in clear and concise project plan, driving deliverables, and timely completion of milestones
  • Develop effective presentations & project update material suitable for stakeholders & business partners regarding overall project progress and recommendations / decisions
  • Coordinate and lead meetings, host sub group meetings, establish agendas, produce minutes, establish scorecards, and ongoing status reports
  • Understand and prioritize technology enhancements as an advocate for the coordination team
  • Ensure processes and procedures are updated timely with attention to detail
  • Review and advise on funding mechanics and operational requirements as it pertains to internal booking locations, regional and currency policies
  • Represent the organisation to business stakeholders across the Bank as well as functional partners (e.g. Credit Risk, Product Controllers, Treasury)
  • Partner with Closing, Agency, and Trading teams to ensure a cohesive and performing broader loan middle office operation
  • Train junior associates
  • Present MIS to group and senior management
  • Take the lead or, where needed, participate in projects and act as subject matter expert in working groups across the Firm to enhance process efficiency
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment that supports growth and development of the team

Key Skills

  • Experience in a loan operations / transaction management advantageous especially in origination space.
  • Knowledge of the loan product / Syndicated Loan business, including an understanding of a Credit Agreement, loan funding mechanics, complex deal structure, ticking fees, funds flows, etc.
  • Proven ability to review / comment / negotiate operational and regulatory terms within legal loan documentation (e.g., Credit Agreements, Term Sheets, Amendments, A&R Credit Agreements, Waivers, and Fee Letters)
  • Proven track record of leading initiatives, hitting milestones, and succeeding in a team environment
  • Develop effective presentations & project update material suitable for stakeholders & business partners regarding overall project progress and recommendations / decisions
  • Coordinate and lead meetings, host sub group meetings, establish agendas, produce minutes, establish scorecards, and ongoing status reports
  • Understand and prioritize technology enhancements as an advocate for the coordination team
  • Ensure processes and procedures are updated timely with attention to detail.
  • Ability to operate in a challenging and rapidly changing environment with a desire to accept new assignments and the ability to learn new principles and dynamic systems quickly
  • Critical decision-making abilities including the ability to independently identify, escalate, and propose solutions to problems
