About the job

We are looking for an enthusiastic and gifted design leader to join our Digital Experience Design (DXD) team, engaged in delivering the next generation of data solutions to clients of our Securities Services business.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a data savvy, business-aware and detail-oriented digital designer. You will lead the delivery of design solutions on a market leading platform in a fast-paced, results-driven environment, where demand for the team’s services and expertise is high.

As a Product Design lead, you’ll focus on client-facing applications and will be responsible for conceiving and delivering innovative design solutions to complex business and data problems in a collaborative and rewarding environment. Working as a valued member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you’ll work in partnership with our visual designers, service designers, product managers, business stakeholders and development teams to shape the direction of our products.

About The Role

  • You will work on the external client facing digital channels for a breadth of businesses within the Securities Services division of JP Morgan’s Corporate & Investment Bank
  • The role will be predominantly focused on delivering client facing tools core to the data solutions business and Fusion platform; enabling clients to manage data sourcing, governance, quality, lineage and distribution
  • You will maintain relationships with business and technology owners, understand their strategy and long-term needs and reflect those needs in design concepts
  • You will have responsibility for a significant book of work, and lead the design delivery of a team in the execution of the book of work
  • You will manage the efficient and scalable execution of the book of work, providing status and transparency to partners
  • You will contribute product design solutions within the guidelines of a common technology platform and brand in an efficient and sustainable manner
  • You will collaborate with visual designers, service designers, CX metrics specialists, developers, UX writers and product owners
  • You will hone your communication skills by presenting your work to diverse business stakeholders and the broader technology organisation
  • You will design through wireframes, visuals, and prototypes at different levels of fidelity. You will be required to ideate and concept prior to the full definition of a delivery milestone, leading workshops and collaborative design sessions
  • You will act like an owner of your solution, supporting the delivery organisation with strong specifications and quality assurance
  • You will deliver work that’s not only user-friendly, aesthetically engaging, but which also produces results – measuring your work’s value by identifying success criteria and performing user validation throughout the design process
  • You will leverage your knowledge and experience in design thinking to plan and facilitate ideation and alignment workshops with project stakeholders
  • You will keep abreast of competitor products and industry trends

About You

  • To be considered for this position, you must have a portfolio available for review with examples of project experience that demonstrates strategic and conceptual thinking
  • You are a UX/product Designer with 10 years of experience who enjoys design and has the ability to articulate the value of UX and the rationale behind your process and design decisions
  • You are passionate about problem solving, design and delivering impactful solutions and work best within a collaborative team-focused environment
  • You are experienced in co-ordinating the output of other designers and managing a book of work greater than your own
  • You are comfortable learning complex financial concepts and using this knowledge to inform your work
  • You are comfortable designing for data-led experiences and have a basic understanding of data science principles
  • You are very detailed focused, happy to bust through ambiguity and drive clear outcomes.
  • You are a patient pragmatist and self-starter who can operate with complex and evolving business requirements
  • You have an understanding of what makes an experience good or bad. You can think through user problems, find reasonable solutions, explain your rational to multiple roles, mock them up in detail, and work with engineers to build them
  • You understand and practice the different phases of the user research and design process -validating hypotheses with users, effectively communicating concepts, creating low/high fidelity prototypes
  • You work with UX software such as Figma, Sketch & InVision. You understand how design translates to code
  • You know how to build and maintain healthy relationships with business and technology partners and are an advocate for design thinking
  • You are comfortable giving and receiving feedback and critique
  • You are constantly pushing your limits and searching for opportunities to become better in both craft and soft skills that help you become a better designer
  • You have experience with user research and you place the customer’s needs above your own preferences
  • You understand and apply accessibility to design
