Wholesale Lending Services Middle Office (WLS MO) is part of WLS and provides global end-to-end loan origination, servicing, restructuring and trading support. Services are tailored to the needs of the client and lines of business, ranging from bilateral to large syndicated loan agreements. Services provided include Loan Origination; Deal Closing & Funding; Documentation Review; Core Loan Servicing; Loan Closing & Trade Settlement.

EMEA Traditional Credit Products Middle Office (TCP MO) – Fee Specialist – Associate

TCP MO is a multi-faceted and deadline driven team, responsible for certain activities of an operational nature in relation to the loan product, including syndicated and bilateral credit facilities. This role is within the TCP MO Quality & Portfolio Integrity Team who have responsibility for quality checks for deal and fee transactions completed within the wider TCP MO group, assessing and managing operational risk for all the team’s controls and partnering with various internal and external parties including, but not limited to, Debt Capital Markets (DCM), Credit Risk, Loan and Agency, Product Control & Finance, and Audit. The team also interacts with counterparts internationally on processes and cross-border transactions.

As part of this team, a new role has been created for a Fee Specialist who will have responsibility for all elements of fee review and booking for all transactions across the TCP MO team.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Validate JPMorgan’s loan origination fees related to Investment Bank / Commercial Bank deals. Fees are validated based on the calculations in executed legal documentation and the firm’s Accounting Policy.
  • On fully syndicated deals, calculate JPMorgan’s syndication fees in relation to the fees paid to the other lenders.
  • Prepare detailed fee write ups for review with the Business and Financial Controllers, and work with Controllers to determine the proper recognition of fees paid to JPMorgan in line with Fee & Accounting policy.
  • Daily monitoring of nostro accounts for expected fee payments, arranging timely clearing of cash received and daily reporting across the TCP MO Team.
  • Monitor and balance fees held awaiting disposition. Substantiate all outstanding balances throughout the month, and report risk elements in monthly forums to senior management.
  • Be aware of and mitigate risk event possibilities. Ensure all outstanding fees are booked in the accounting systems in the correct month.
  • Ensure all prior month adjustments as relates to fees are accounted for in SAP, within BD3.
  • Prepare and distribute daily, weekly and monthly metric reports related to fees paid to JPMorgan. These reports detail information on fees paid pending processing, documentation turnaround time, fees booked, processing times and reasons for delay, if any.
  • Take a lead role in helping to review & maintain procedures for the Fee Team including setting up necessary regular touchpoint review calls with Financial Controllers, Business Representatives, Management, Deal Closers and Middle Office to discuss pipeline fees and documentation status.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must have experience reading and interpreting loan documentation or related experience dealing with documentation.
  • Preferred 5+ years of experience in loan operations/transaction management
  • Be able to demonstrate a risk aware background
  • Experience or background in general accounting knowledge and fee/accounting policy experience
  • Must be a team oriented individual.
  • Must be highly organized with ability to manage a variety of tasks.
  • Excellent communications skills oral and written.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and judgement skills
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
