Team Overview

J.P. Morgan Asset Management’s (‘JPMAM’) Investment Trust business is a market leading business managing the affairs of 21 London Stock Exchange listed investment trust companies with collective assets of circa GBP13 billion and one New York Stock Exchange listed closed end fund with USD270 million of assets. The Investment Trust business is a significant contributor to the revenues and overall profitability of the UK Funds Business. JPMAM has been at the forefront of efforts to broaden shareholder ownership of investment trusts, particularly in the independent wealth manager and private investor channels, and has significant resources devoted to this specialist activity.

The UK funds marketing team sits within the EMEA wide marketing community. The team partner with cross-line-of-business teams and specialist marketing functions on the day-to-day and strategic projects to drive the continual enhancement of JPMorgan’s client experience.

The Senior Associate Investment Trust marketing will be a member of the EMEA Marketing team and report into the Head of Investment Trust Marketing. The role is based in London.

Role Overview

The Senior Associate Investment Trust Marketing will help to execute the marketing strategy and campaign delivery for several Investment Trust and J.P. Morgan Investment Trust Brand campaigns. The candidate must continue to grow and define the investment trust business aligned with the wider marketing objectives in a proactive manner.

The candidate will be able to demonstrate experience of marketing financial services products to a D2C and B2B audience. They will be aware of existing and emerging trends within the industry. This is an active hands-on role requiring proactive engagement and delivery.

There is a focus on digital first communications across web, email, social, multi-media and data management as part of the on-going development of J.P. Morgan’s client experience program. Data and measurement are key components of our strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Day to day delivery of marketing campaigns including:
    • Managing the creation of media campaign deliverables. Briefing in creative services, digital (e.g. Content, Web, Social etc.) and external agencies (Media) – ensuring digital assets and marketing collateral are produced to an excellent standard and designed to deliver on campaign objectives.
    • Planning and executing email marketing campaign activity for the monthly JPMorgan Investment Trust newsletter and individual investment trust product emails
    • Working with investment managers, content writers and creative services to create and optimize content (articles, videos etc.) that drives acquisition and deepens client engagement
    • Ownership over the investment trust sections of the JPMorgan Asset Management website. Peforming periodic reviews of content (including SEO) and updating the website content on an ad-hoc basis.
    • Evaluating campaign performance and reporting to senior management and investment trust board directors on campaign performance – using data to identify opportunities for optimization.
  • To support the development of a marketing strategy to acquire clients into the Investment Trust business
  • To support development and implement short and medium-term marketing strategies, with a focus on acquisition or deepening, brand visibility and thought leadership, in collaboration with the media and events teams
  • To support and deliver data-driven campaigns and the activation of sponsorships and other opportunities to build profile and scale. Use tools like Google Analytics to build lifecycle marketing campaigns and track results.
  • To leverage all available tools like business intelligence data, brand insights, client surveys, and research to optimize existing and surface new opportunities and develop holistic marketing strategies for acquisition or deepening that are measurable and scalable.
  • Work with digital, brand, creative services, social media, solutions marketing, business intelligence, risk and control partners to develop and implement above marketing strategies, such as nurture journeys and campaigns.
  • Partner with marketing colleagues across the firm and subject matter experts to develop differentiated and thought-provoking intellectual capital related to our clients’ passions and pursuits.
  • Work with the business to understand marketing strategy & roadmaps as well as translate the voice of customers/clients/partners into valuable features and share best practices, exploit efficiencies, and leverage ideas.
  • To undertake all activities to the highest quality and regulatory standards to ensure that we conduct first-class business in a first-class way and with no compliance failures
  • Advocate for and represent the roadmap to stakeholder groups, building relationships and buy-in
  • Make evidence-based decisions and tradeoffs to deliver what matters most to our stakeholders and clients
  • Embody a user-centric mindset, leveraging client data and a deep understanding of client needs, to inform user experience and enhancements.

Qualifications And Essential Experiences

  • Experience in the financial services industry with a demonstrated track record of success
  • Possess the strategic vision needed to evolve the function over the medium- to long-term and the management acumen to drive shorter-term success
  • Prior experience liaising with related functions, including regulatory and compliance, publishing, and digital marketing
  • Evidence of working across the marketing mix with a particular strength in using data to inform digital marketing strategies and campaigns including social media.
  • Ability to build relationships and influence across a large, matrixed organization
  • Track record of results tied to marketing programs aimed at driving client acquisition and deepening relationships
  • Strong project management and editorial skills – able to manage multiple priorities, communicate progress and effectively track deliverables to completion
  • Deep understanding of customer journeys and has tangible experience in designing solutions with the end-to-end in mind
  • Track record in user-centric delivery, leveraging user research and data to ensure products have strong market-fit and create exceptional experiences
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
