Job Description

The team is recruiting for a VP level position to join as the EMEA regional lead for consumer and digital regulatory policy issues. The successful candidate will work closely with business partners in our recently launched retail business as well as partners in other lines of business to strategically develop, pursue and execute regulatory policy analysis and advocacy objectives for the Firm in the consumer and digital finance space.

Core Responsibilities

The main areas of responsibility for the role include:

  • Identify and monitor regulatory policy developments in financial services with a focus in, but not limited to, consumer and digital related policy issues such as open finance/open banking, payments, artificial intelligence, digital ID, data act, access to cash and other related topic
  • Provide insights, updates, and potential business impact analysis of these developments on the Firm.
  • Advise our Lines of Business and other functions on the implications of key policies and regulations.
  • Develop positions and advocacy strategies on proposed regulatory policies and engage with trade associations, policymakers, regulators and other stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Represent the Firm’s views in discussions with regulators, legislators and other appropriate external stakeholders.
  • Produce quantitative and qualitative analysis in support of regulatory policy positions
  • Deliver verbal and written briefings and analyses on complex topics to a wide range of internal stakeholders, including senior management.
  • Prepare executive level presentations for Senior Leaders to use with both internal and external stakeholders on a range of global and domestic regulatory policy issues
  • Build relationships and work with a wide range of internal stakeholders (line of business, compliance, legal, government affairs and global partners in the Regulatory Affairs function) in determining the firm’s views on proposals and the appropriate mechanism for advocacy/response
  • Develop relationships with external stakeholders, including identifying and building relationships with regulators, peer firms, and trade & industry bodies

Qualifications And Skills

  • 6-10 years of relevant experience in policy, financial regulation, consulting, strategy, research or a related role.
  • Working knowledge of financial services regulation and public policy context. Familiarity with recent trends in the consumer and digital space related to consumer credit, banking payments, retail investments, open finance/open banking, artificial intelligence, digital ID, data act.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to effectively engage senior stakeholders.
  • Ease working across a range of complex issues; ability to learn new topics quickly and move between subjects
  • Strong time management skills with ability to manage multiple projects and time sensitive deliverables
  • Advanced technical skills in Microsoft Office skills (Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong initiative, entrepreneurial spirit and creative thinking
  • Highest level of integrity and professionalism
  • Undergraduate Degree required
