Our new Luton Distribution Centre will have a range of automated machinery, fixtures and fittings for which we are looking for a highly skilled maintenance team. As an Automated Maintenance Assistant Team Manager, you’ll lead your team of engineers and operatives to integrate new technology into out day to day business.

You’ll communicate confidently with all kinds of people as you manage repairs, coordinate and schedule maintenance actions and fix breakdowns. Your team will pull out all the stops to keep our equipment, machinery and work spaces in top condition whilst championing health and safety at all times.

What you’ll do

  • Lead a team of operatives and engineers
  • Be responsible for the smooth running of the automation technology
  • Cooperate with suppliers on day to day activities & root cause analysis
  • Organise service schedules and manage the spare parts for the automated machinery
  • Sort breakdowns swiftly and efficiently
  • Manage on-site contractors
  • Responsibility for pocket sorters, labelling machines, chain and roller conveyor systems, electricals, wiring and special machinery for pallet addition, removal and stacking

What you’ll need

  • Experience handling and maintaining mechanical equipment
  • Multi skilled Maintenance Engineer City & Guilds 1 & 2 or relevant experience in maintenance of automated installations
  • IOSH managing safety or other certified H&S training
  • ROSPA working equipment awareness
  • Experience with automated mechanical & electrical equipment
  • Experience with CDM training for contractors
  • Experience with reading electrical drawings
  • Strong leadership skills to make decisions, inspire and communicate at all levels
  • Outstanding organisation and confident multi-tasking to prioritise deadlines
  • Experience using computerized maintenance management systems
  • Motivation, flexibility and plenty of initiative
