Job Description:

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for operations to join us to support the training and development of our management and assessor teams. You’ll need to be someone organised and proactive who can manage a robust competence assessment regime, whilst delivering real time practical training on board and at our stations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Accountability for compiling any Competence Development Plans and undertaking Incident investigations with identified managers as required
  • Participate in the internal and external audit programme, ensuring any actions assigned are closed out within the specified timescales
  • Provide independent support and guidance to on train and station assessors to raise the quality and standard of assessments and record keeping
  • Carry out training needs analysis where applicable and deliver practical training for managers to gain safety critical competence
  • Provide learning, coaching and mentoring to managers facilitating their continual competency development and retention
  • Demonstrate compliance with existing SMS requirements, ensuring a consistent approach and quality record keeping
  • Support the development and improvement of training courses and materials (in conjunction Ops training) to ensure it meets business requirements

Job Requirements:

  • To hold or be working towards CAVA/TAQA/A1/D32 Assessment Qualification
  • Proven track record of competency and compliance management
  • Demonstrable experience of undertaking safety / operational investigations
  • Effective with administration, able to maintain accurate, auditable records
  • To be competent in safety critical duties of a Train Guard/Manager and/or Train Dispatch, with at least 12 months experience

Qualification & Experience:

  • Have experience of coaching and mentoring
  • Be an excellent communicator with the ability to deliver training as required
