LSE Jobs – LSE Fellow in Anthropology

Job Description:

This is a fellowship in social anthropology intended for an early-career scholar. Your primary duties will be to lecture and teach classes and seminars. Depending on circumstances, this may mean sole responsibility for a half unit course, or teaching alongside another member of the department. In your first year in post, you will be responsible for delivery of the first half of our first-year undergraduate core course AN100 Being Human: Contemporary Themes in Social Anthropology. In addition to contributing to taught courses you will also be expected to act as Academic Mentor to undergraduate and/or graduate students. You will meet your mentees regularly in small groups, and mark and discuss their formative essays.

Qualification & Experience:

• Excellent communication skills are essential, as are the ability to foster an engaging and supportive learning environment and to work in close partnership with fellow teachers, and university-level teaching experience in Anthropology.
• Candidates will need a PhD in Anthropology or with dissertation submitted for examination by 30th September 2023, and a developing research record in the discipline.
