Job Description:

The Deputy Director Warhead Stockpile Management (WSM) has responsibility for maintaining safe, effective, performing, and available in-service nuclear warheads now and in the future. The DD is the delegated Approval Authority for all UK nuclear weapon warheads and is responsible for delivering to customers those outputs specific to the nuclear weapons stockpile, including the introduction of the Mk4A TRES and Nuclear Warhead stockpile stewardship in support of the UK Strategic Deterrent and maintenance of Operation Relentless (Continuous At Sea Deterrent (CASD).

Job Responsibilities:

  • The Modifications Assistant Head is primarily responsible for the modifications Warhead Stockpile Management AWE Control Account and associated DNO Warhead Stockpile Management Projects.

Job Requirements:

  • Alignment to programme risk and change management, the role requires the successful candidate to maintain a detailed knowledge of Industry best practices, be flexible to taskings and be prepared to take on leadership of other control accounts or projects as necessary to meet stockpile business objectives.

Qualification & Experience:

  • In addition, this post is responsible for agreeing the control accounts and projects; scope, alignment with the strategic programme need and ensuring the agreed project outputs are delivered to enable benefits to be realised.
