About the job

Summary

We’re looking for you to join our team in central Manchester supporting an exciting new National pilot project at Castlefield Viaduct. If you’re an inspiring individual with a passion for organising and helping others to get things done, and keen to use your technical skills to streamline our processes, then we’d love to hear from you. This is a part time role so hours worked across the week can be flexible and we’re happy to discuss this before or during interview.

Interview dates: 31st October and 1st November held at the Manchester office on Oxford Street.

If you would like to discuss the role further, please contact Rebecca Alexander, Visitor Operations & Experience Manager via email. [email protected]

This could also be an internal secondment opportunity.

What it’s like to work here

We’re a bit different at Castlefield Viaduct, we’re a new property with a new team delivering a unique pilot scheme, so you’ll be joining at an exciting time.

We work between the Viaduct and our city centre office, so you’ll be required to work at both sites to support the day-to-day operations. We’re a small team but we work within a wider context. You’ll engage with national and regional teams to help us achieve the ambitions for the project so there’s lots to get involved in. The Operations and Experience team welcome visitors to the viaduct and also deliver community engagement and programming on and off site. We’re looking for someone to support exceptional service both internally and externally so there’s lots of variety.

What you’ll be doing

The National Trust is a busy organisation that has a lot going on – you can guarantee that no day is the same, so you’ll have to love variety and working at pace. You will provide a business support service to a new property team, leading the development of effective and efficient processes that enable the team to deliver a high-profile project along with business-as-usual. We’d also love you to have some experience within facilities coordination as we’re looking for support within this function on a day-to-day basis.

Who we’re looking for

  • Highly organised and with experience of supporting multi-disciplined teams
  • Strong communications skills
  • A logical thinker who is able to understand how things fit together and spot the opportunities that appear
  • A process thinker with an enquiring mind who loves to explore the intricacies of how things work and what we can do to improve them
  • A confident multi-tasker, happy to roll their sleeves up and help us get the job done and able to prioritise own workload
  • Well organised and attention to detail
  • A skilled IT user, happy to learn and explore new technology and systems as well as share the knowledge with others.

The package

The National Trust has the motto ‘For everyone, for ever’ at its heart. We’re working hard to create an inclusive culture, where everyone feels they belong. It’s important that our people reflect and represent the diversity of the communities and audiences we serve. We welcome and value difference, so when we say we’re for everyone, we want everyone to be welcome in our teams too.

  • Flexible working whenever possible
  • Free parking at most locations
  • Free entry to our properties for you, a guest and your children (under 18)
  • Substantial pension scheme of up to 10% basic salary
