About Shared Services

Our Shared Services team deliver specialist processes that have a direct impact on the performance of Network Rail, our customers and suppliers. These services include payroll, accounts, finance, controls and compliance, reporting, recruitment and helpdesk support.

What will you be doing?

To manage and deliver passenger and freight Schedule 4 compensation, claims and forecasting.

Main Responsibility

  • Manage nominated Schedule 4 contracts (passenger & freight) to achieve the most cost effective spend of Network Rail compensation budget.
  • Administrate the S4CS system and associated data quality for relevant contracts.
  • Assist in managing effective relationships with customers and stakeholders, including providing compensation regime, Enhancements budgeting and contractual guidance.
  • Produce and maintain timely and accurate Schedule 4 forecasts, estimates and management information.
  • Assist in the identification and implementation of quality and efficiency improvement initiatives.
  • Manage the engagement and development of individuals and of the team.
  • Manage and comply with Company procedures to provide appropriate resources, communication strategies, training, and competency, and evaluate fitness of staff to safely deliver their accountabilities.

The Ideal Candidate

  • High level of numeracy.
  • Able to lead a team and motivate team members.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Able to work under pressure and to deadlines.
  • Detailed working knowledge of relevant compensation and planning processes.
  • Detailed working knowledge of relevant compensation systems.
  • Good working knowledge of relevant planning systems.
  • Good knowledge of Track Access Conditions.
  • Knowledge of relevant content of Network Code.
  • Good knowledge of relevant railway geography and terminology.
  • Basic understanding of railway engineering activities.

Package Description

Role Title: Compensation Team Manager

Salary range: £34,050 – £38,305

Contract Type: Permanent

Location: The Quadrant, Elder Gate, Milton Keynes, MK9 1EN
