Do you enjoy managing the technical and performance side of the Lift and Escalator equipment?

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Lift and Escalator Site Manager to assist in this busy, challenging and exciting role.

The team is currently growing, and they are working towards making all Network Rail Office’s and Train stations “Access for All (Step Free)” by 2023.

You’ll help to specify and manage the technical and performance requirements for lift and escalator equipment, including installation, maintenance and renewals. You’ll also manage the national maintenance and renewal contracts for lifts and escalators.

Main Responsibility

  • Manage the National Lifts & Escalators Maintenance and Renewals Contracts.
  • Directly accountable and responsible for the Lifts & Escalators department.
  • Deliver on time, cost and quality requirements planned preventative maintenance on lifts and escalators.
  • Undertake performance monitoring of contractors ensuring compliance to Network Rail contract conditions.
  • Manage Safety Inspections of Maintenance Contractors to clarify that all working practices are compliant to Network Rail Health and Safety standards.
  • Manage inspections of new lifts and escalators offered to Network Rail from internal and external project schemes to ensure compliance and fit for purpose. Liaise with all parties for project hand back.
  • Manage National Planned Preventative Maintenance condition surveys to make certain that the quality of Maintenance and workmanship is to the Network Rail contractual standards.
  • Manage Regional Office Audits with the maintainers Contract Managers and Branch Managers. Items to be inspected are Maintenance and reactive engineers documentation, Invoicing, Examination of Reports close outs, Health and Safety and all correct documentation held on site.
  • Carry out four weekly contract review meetings with Maintenance Contractors.
  • Implement performance monitoring of contractors ensuring compliance to Network Rail conditions.
  • Carry out Pre-measurement of invoices with Network Rail Maintenance Controller prior to any payments and to carry out financial review on Quotations for works outside the scope of the contact.
  • Liaise with Route Asset Stewards and Train Operating Company representatives, on day to day maintenance and general operational issues.
  • Liaise with Consultants for Technical audits and impartial advise and support.

The Ideal Candidate

Will have experience in the following:

Essential Criteria

  • Lift and escalator maintenance experience, as well as experience in managing modernisation and repair.
  • Experience in contract management, procurement, budgets, audits and projects, in a mechanical and electrical discipline.
  • Excellent people management skills and good communication skills.
  • Experience in Health & Safety Assessments.
  • A minimum of NVQ level 3 Lift qualification or equivalent.

Desirable

  • Membership of a relevant professional body.

Band & Salary range: 4B, £32,740 – £40,925 per annum.
