Brief Description

Based in Stratford, the Capital Delivery Eastern team is working on numerous projects throughout the Anglia region. These include; major signallings, conversion of significant risk level crossings and the renewal of life-expired assets.

The Assistant Project Engineer would be expected to work across these projects offering significant opportunity to gain experience of a variety of different equipment types and delivery methods.

About The Role (External)

Key day-to-day duties of the Assistant Project Engineer include supporting the Project Engineer and Designated Project Engineer with:

  • The preparation of specifications and tendering documentation outlining the client’s requirements for suppliers,
  • The supervision of design development and checking of designs,
  • monitoring of construction work checking for compliance with design, standards and legislation,
  • development and maintenance of quality systems throughout the lifecycle of projects,
  • monitoring of project construction HSQE.
  • Working towards the competencies required to discharge the role of Project Engineer, maintain a log demonstrating own development and achievements.

Essential

  • Engineering qualification in a relevant subject area (GNVQ, ONC, HNC, Degree).
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Understanding of railway operations.

Desirable

  • Appreciation of commercial and procurement procedures.
