We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join the Anglia HR team as a HR business partner that will be responsible for supporting our line managers, focussing on maintaining a first class railway, enabling us to improve passenger journeys. Our Operations function is key to keeping Britain running. We’ll need your full dedication to establish quick working relationships to allow us to fully support our colleagues.

This particular HRBP role is going to be focussed on our apprenticeships, leading our future talent and supporting our line managers to lead them to successful careers within our business. You will need excellent influencing and communication skills which will help our line managers nurture and develop our population of apprentices. You will need to liaise with our central teams to ensure our compliance, achieving deadlines and covering all the requirements of every scheme. You will also need to look at external best practice and benchmarking so we lead and become best in class here at Network Rail.

Please note: This is opportunity is for a 12 month fixed term contract.

About The Role (External)

You’ll be involved in activities such as:

  • Partner with managers to deliver operational people solutions, in conjunction with the Anglia HR team particularly in relation to apprenticeships and early careers.
  • Develop a detailed understanding of the function in order to make a full contribution to the management team on people-related business issues, which will include Safety and Performance.
  • Support and coach line managers on the interim and annual performance management, including but not limited to objective setting, development, ensuring early interventions are made regarding performance issues, including the use of performance improvement plans. This will be for all apprentices and graduates and ensuring that they are getting the support that they need
  • Co-ordinating and implementing organisational review and design principles to support our strategic objectives, mitigating IR risks, promoting engagement and embed relevant culture change.
  • Supporting the Senior HRBP in key strategic projects.
  • Produce and be involved in the annual talent review, ensuring that talent review actions are actively reviewed and executed through the year.

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate the following:

  • Excellent technical HR Knowledge
  • Experience in an HR Business Partner / Operational HR role working in a large, complex, matrix organisation
  • Passionate about customer service with ability to articulate achievements through business deliverables
  • Knowledge and experience of implementing best practice HR solutions to drive a high-performance culture
  • Experience of mentoring, influencing and building strong working relationships with all levels of an organisation
  • Able to find creative solutions to complex problems

Whilst it’s not essential, we’d love it if you have a CIPD/post-graduate human resources qualification.
