We have variety of experience with qualified accountants, engineers, HSE specialists and auditors in the team. Our audits cover all parts of the Network focusing on key health & safety, operational risks and processes, capital programmes, IT, Finance etc.

In the context of Network Rail’s vision, “Putting Passengers First”, Internal Audit’s purpose is to help the Board and Executive Committee to protect the assets, reputation, and value of Network Rail by challenging the design, operation, and effectiveness of the framework of controls which enable risk to be assessed and managed. All of this contributes to improving services for our customers.

Brief Description

Network Rail are looking for two Lead Internal Auditor who will be based out of the Network Rail offices in London Eversholt Street. The purpose of this role is to lead and deliver planned internal audit assignments focusing on a wide range of subjects such as IT, significant change programmes and general auditing.

This individual will be able to answer yes to the following questions:

  • Are you someone that has experience of identifying significant risks to business objectives?
  • Do you have relevant up to date experience of assessing the design, effectiveness, and efficiency of internal controls over risks?
  • Are you able to provide senior executives with recommendations that will improve the quality of their control environments?
  • Can you coach, train and provide guidance to other members of the team?

About The Role (External)

Salary Band 3C (£53,202 – £59,853) plus benefits Network Rail adheres to a structured pay framework, any salary offered will be within the pay range advertised.

This post is to be located in the network Rail offices on London Eversholt Street . x2 opportunities available.

The successful candidate will need to hold a professional qualification such as qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) or IIA and have relevant up to date IT auditing experience. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills – written and verbal, including report writing. You will be a team player but at the same time able to take the lead when it is appropriate to do so and have experience leading teams in a global management consultancy, professional services firm, or a large matrix organisation with an internal audit or consulting background.

You will also need to have the ability to utilise core risk and controls skills in a broad range of projects both in traditional internal audits and advisory projects aimed at assisting in the implementation of controls / improvements. Whilst holding a relevant professional IT qualification and, ideally, general experience of holding IT audits.
