Network Rail Internal Audit team is a diverse team with people who have experience of having worked in Network Rail, FTSE 100 companies, Big 4, and the energy sector. We have variety of experience with qualified accountants, engineers, HSE specialists and auditors in the team. Our audits cover all parts of the Network focusing on key health & safety, operational risks and processes, capital programmes, IT, Finance etc.

In the context of Network Rail’s vision, “Putting Passengers First”, Internal Audit’s purpose is to help the Board and Executive Committee to protect the assets, reputation, and value of Network Rail by challenging the design, operation and effectiveness of the framework of controls which enable risk to be assessed and managed. All of this contributes to improving services for our customers.

Brief Description

Network Rail are looking for a Lead Internal Auditor who will be based out of the Network Rail offices in London Eversholt Street. This individual will be able to answer yes to the following questions:

  • Are you someone that has experience of identifying significant risks to business objectives?
  • Can you coach, train and provide guidance to other members of the team?
  • Are you able to provide senior executives with recommendations that will improve the quality of their control environments?

About The Role (External)

The successful candidate will need to hold a professional qualification such as qualified accountant ( ACA, CIMA,ACCA) or IIA or have relevant up to date operational experience. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills – written and verbal, including report writing. You will be a team player but at the same time able to take the lead when it is appropriate to do so. We also have a preference for candidates with data analytics experience.

  • Salary Band 3C (£53,202 – £59,853) plus benefits Network Rail adheres to a structured pay framework, any salary offered will be within the pay range advertised.
