Human Resources (HR) provides support on all people-related issues for Network Rail. We’re responsible for creating an environment that attracts and engages high-performing individuals to deliver engineering and operational excellence for Britain’s railway. Brief Description

We’re looking for a Pensions Administrator to support our employees with the operational and administrative aspects of pensions.

About The Role (External)

Vacancy type: 15-month fixed-term contract. This is a full-time opportunity, but flexible working patterns will be considered.

Location: The Quadrant: MK.

Band & Salary: Band 6, £21,000 – £30,000, depending upon experience.

What are the key accountabilities in this role?

  • Resolve Network Rail data and administrative queries for the external administrator.
  • Respond to member and internal support team queries in relation to company pension arrangements.
  • Support the organisation and delivery of pre-retirement programmes.
  • Calculate contributions and benefits as required for scheme members.
  • Assist in the administering of Railways pension scheme and Network Rail’s defined contribution scheme pensions arrangements.
  • Provide support on HR initiatives as directed.

What are the essential skills and experience we’re looking for?

  • Experience in an HR generalist or payroll role.
  • Understanding of Defined Contribution and Defined Benefit pensions schemes.
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex information and issues to non-specialists.
  • Ability to manage customer expectation.

We would also like, but it’s not essential:

  • Previous pensions experience.
  • Appropriate pensions professional qualification.
  • Experience of pension scheme administrating and calculation.
  • Appreciation of pensions legislative requirements .
