Location: We operate a hybrid working model and fully support flexibility with colleagues already based across the UK working from home and linked to one of our core locations in Newport, Titchfield (Fareham), London or Darlington.

Salary: £36,838 – £42,519 (London: £39,838 – £45,619)

Working Patterns: All our vacancies are offered as a flexible option of Full time, Part time, Flexible working or Job Share

We are looking for accomplished Data Engineers or those from similar backgrounds to join our busy Data Growth & Operations team, building tools, services and pipelines to make data available to the analysts and data scientists working across the ONS.

You will be responsible for designing and implementing ETL pipelines for all sorts of data, preparing it for analysis & research. Across your role you will be involved in cleaning, validation and enhancement of data, as well as data management and liaison with data users to best understand their needs.

On top of your experience building efficient & effective ETL pipelines, you will be comfortable using a range of coding tools and languages (particularly Python, PySpark & SQL) and familiar with taking code from prototype to production ready – with understanding of security, accessibility and version control to boot.

Asides from your technical expertise, in a collaborative environment like ONS communication skills are key, and you’ll be expected to be able to communicate across a range of technical and non-technical stakeholders.
