Job Responsibilities:

  • To manage, lead, train, motivate and develop all members of the team
  • Be the civils subject matter expert interface, so FND ,SD and CE Ops teams can verify and qualify what they are spending with other suppliers like Telent, MUS, etc
  • To own the Regional strategy for civils team (what gangs need to be equipped to deliver Regional specific types of work including reinstatement, trenching, Dig & Fix, Reshell, Ethernet, blockages, etc)
  • Own, drive, and deliver recruitment, mobilisation, and induction activity in the Region (inc interviews and appointments)
  • Own drive, and deliver the implementation of all vehicles, plant, kit, devices and consumables (inc making choices on the most cost effective fleet required for your bespoke regional set-up)
  • To own the setting up and ongoing management of fully functional depot(s) in conjunction with BT Property and any external property provider
  • Deliver the new recruit training plan (inc first aid, driver training, devices)
  • Ensure work sites and staff adheres to laid down statutory company/ industry standards and practices
  • To establish and foster effective working relationships with all team members
  • Interface with Openreach procurement and equipment/consumables/plant suppliers (inc PO spend)
  • Maintain high quality of workmanship and compliance standards whilst achieving efficiency targets
  • Deal efficiently with customer complaints / enquiries at all times

Qualification & Experience:

  • Experience & knowledge of the Openreach field duct & cable network
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Experience of successfully managing Openreach ID/SD/BCD field engineering teams
  • Experience & knowledge of the Openreach field duct & cable network
