Job Description:

We are also looking for someone to decide on an appropriate resolution for issues or escalation to Head of Branch Partnerships. You will be required to persuade and influence others using developed communication skills employing diplomacy internally and/or externally. This will entail turning transformation into Business As Usual (BAU) whilst identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Play a pivotal role in supporting the Head of Branch Partnerships and the BPMs to drive branch governance activity forward, and deliver on agreed plans to build a sustainable branch network in accordance with the Branch Sustainability programme and any future strategic ambitions.
  • Maintain a society wide overview of Regional Boards (RB’s) and Branch Affairs Committee (BAC) governance compliance (trustees terms of office, conflicts of interest etc.), proactively monitoring and identifying any gaps in compliance.
  • Act as Secretary to the Branch Affairs Committee
  • Conduct and co-ordinate the election process for Regional Chairs and Vice-Chairs in accordance with RSPCA policies.
  • Liaise with the Field Operations Support Manager and Head of Branch Partnerships to ensure effective support is being given to the Regional Boards and make any recommendations for process improvements
  • Coordinate and provide governance reports to senior management and BAC as required.
  • To work collaboratively with the Head of Branch Partnerships and BPM’s to identify governance and compliance issues that may impact the future of the Branches in National Administration s and, in conjunction with the appropriate BPM, make recommendations accordingly e.g. closure, merger or move away from ‘National Administration’ status; supporting plans to work towards the building of a sustainable branch network.

Job Requirements:

  • Understanding of charity governance and regulatory compliance. Understanding of a federated organisation and membership.. and GDPR/information governance.
  • Organising and prioritising work, with a clear readiness to make decisions, take the initiative and focus on delivery. Seeking better ways of doing things, looking to improve on status quo and willingness to deal with difficult situations that affect output, whatever the organisational level of the role.
  • Delivering the set goals, standards and priorities. Following through to ensure that quality and productivity standards are met. Taking a supporting role in setting goals, standards and priorities.
  • Do you have the ability to influence, motivate others in order to reach organisational goals? Solid negotiation skills is key.
