The Post Holder Will Be Responsible For

Acting as deputy Officer In Charge Service Funds Accounts Section (OIC SFAS) in the absence of OIC SFAS.

The safe custody and proper accounting for Service Funds monies separately from Public monies including maintenance of the Sage and COM cashbooks and the safe custody of the safe keys.

Ensuring that formal handover/takeover checks are completed when handing over cash balance responsibilities.

The maintenance and monitoring of the cash paying-in programme.

The provision of a routine cash handling service including the receipt and disbursement of cash as authorised by responsible fund officials, ensuring that a receipt is issued for all monies received. Maintaining a list of all personnel authorised to approve payments on behalf of each fund and activity.

Reconciling the cash in hand with the cashbook balance on SAGE and COM at the end of each working day.

Paying cash into the Service Funds and Public bank accounts on a regular basis and ensuring limits are not exceeded.

The requisition and disposal of sterling and foreign currency as per requirements.

The issue and reconciliation on return of flight sub imprests.

Referring to the Accounts Flight Manager any matter that comes to attention affecting policy, management or control of Service or Public Funds.

Acting as station custodian of duplicate Service Funds keys.

Reporting to the Accounts Flt Manager any discrepancy in cash holdings immediately it is discovered.

Recording the release of Service Funds and Public Accounting policy updates and ensuring that all such instructions have been forwarded to the relevant personnel and actioned.

Operation of the Public Cash Account as delegated by the Accts Flt Manager.

Inputting fees for payment and actioning recoveries on various programmes.

Administration of the Public Accounting archived records ensuring they are kept in an orderly fashion and destroyed at the relevant times.
