Job Description:

To provide marketing support to our Marketing Manager – Education and play an invaluable role in delivering marketing strategy and activities for WMG’s Education Programmes.

Job Responsibilities:

  • To maintain sections of the WMG website including uploading content using our content management system, reviewing content to make sure it’s fit for purpose, making text changes and help improve the layout of pages for usability, working with external suppliers on integration of CRM platform and forms, and making sure pages are accessible.
  • To undertake market research for example desk research for new courses, creating an online survey or organising a focus group, plus conducting regular market research and competitor benchmarking.
  • To support the identification of press and editorial opportunities, working with the WMG Head of Marketing and Communications to ensure consistency with WMG press activities.
  • To raise the profile and reputation of WMG Education, its work and people by telling good news stories through internal and external communications channels e.g., weekly staff bulletin and regular liaison with university communication colleagues to ensure opportunities are optimised.
  • To report on key metrics, analysing and interpreting trends and providing actionable insights based on available analytics data.
  • To contribute to the development and delivery of the marketing plans for a wide portfolio of education programmes which could include Degree Apprenticeships, Part-time Master’s, UK-China Programmes and the WMG Skills Centre, in consultation with the Marketing Manager – Education.
  • To lead on delivery of marketing campaigns for different segments of our education portfolio to meet marketing objectives, ensuring the Marketing Manager is updated and activities are data driven and measured.
  • To prepare, organise, attend and manage events and exhibitions both on and off site.
  • To plan and deliver social media campaigns, developing digital content including videos generating ecards, researching hashtags and influencers, generating engagement and relevant new followers, proactivity seeking out the latest trends and assessing relevance for WMG.
  • To produce marketing collateral for campaigns and our education portfolio (posters, flyers, brochures etc.) This can include involvement in the concept, copywriting, photography, design and distribution of the materials. This will involve negotiating with internal and external suppliers for design and print, monitoring and maintaining stock levels of marketing materials and sourcing images/arranging photoshoots for materials.
  • To provide advertising support including briefing agencies or suppliers, sourcing appropriate print and online media and confirming key details such as audiences served, key deadlines and format requirements.
  • To provide marketing support to Education Business Development colleagues, working with them to generate leads and interest in our programmes.
  • To support student recruitment conversion to enrolment activities and deliver ‘keep warm’ campaigns with the Education Administration teams for Part-time post-graduate programmes and short courses.
  • To support the website strategy including writing engaging and impactful content for the web, researching keywords, writing meta data for SEO, content development such as videos, user testing, link building and outreach.
  • To proactively seek out the latest marketing trends and developments to be able to assess the relevance and importance for WMG Education marketing.
